Utilities Share Best Practices At Fall Protection Symposium in Colorado

July 11, 2014
Western Area Power Administration sponsored a Fall Protection Symposium and Roundtable July 8-9 in Loveland, Colorado, to discuss the newly released OSHA fall protection regulations. At this summit, utilities from across North America shared their current fall protection programs, techniques, processes and procedures to protect their field workforce from fall-related injuries and fatalities. The event featured presentations from utilities, contractors, training entities and vendors.

With the new OSHA fall protection guidelines around the corner, electric utilities are challenged with investing in new devices, modifying their structures, devising new engineering standards, and training their field workforce. To help utilities to comply with these new regulations, which go into effect next April, the Western Area Power Administration presented a free fall protection symposium July 8-9 in Loveland, Colorado.
