Reminder: Abstracts Due Feb. 15 for 2022 Vegetation Management Supplement

Dec. 14, 2021
Submit your abstracts for the supplement published by T&D World in partnership with the Utility Arborist Association.

T&D World is once again partnering with the Utility Arborist Association (UAA) on an annual print supplement for the utility vegetation management industry. If you have an article abstract that you would like to submit for the supplement, please email it to Field Editor Amy Fischbach by Feb. 15, 2022.

Your abstract should include the following:

1. A one-paragraph description of the article, which must be focused on an aspect of the vegetation management industry. Examples include case studies from utilities and contractors on best practices. research articles on pollinators, IVM and sustainability, applications of new technologies in the industry, etc. Note that we cover a wide variety of topics within the supplement as long as they pertain to UVM. Please email Amy if you have any questions.

2. The proposed author or authors for the article. Note that it is preferred if the articles are bylined or co-bylined by a UVM professional when possible. The authors will need to sign an electronic author agreement prior to publication.

3. Ideas for artwork, which can include high-resolution color photos and charts and graphs.

Once we receive the abstracts, we will work with the authors, who will have until April 15, 2022, to submit the final versions of their articles, which should be between 1,500 to 2,500 words and include:

1. a short headline and deck

2. An article with short subheads to break up the text.

3. A short author bio at the end.

The articles will be published in the June 2022 print supplement. To read last year's Vegetation Management Supplement, view the digital edition of our June 2021 issue.

The 2022 Vegetation Management Supplement will likely include two one-page columns and about eight full-length feature articles. Those stories that aren't included in the supplement will be included in the print magazine or online and in our Vegetation Management Insights newsletter.

Again, please email Amy with your abstracts, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
