    Sept. 20, 2023

Svenska kraftnat, an electricity transmission system operator in Sweden, has assigned Sweco a task worth $4.5 million to conduct a comprehensive review and upgrade of the country’s electricity transmission system having 16,000 km of overhead lines, until 2031.

The assignment, initiated in May 2023, not only asks Sweco to complete a preliminary study with pre-planning and detailed project planning of measures to be taken for a review of the overhead lines throughout Sweden, but also includes geotechnical surveys along the overhead lines.

Sweco is analyzing and compiling input data by evaluating the measures to be applied for safe and secure operational lines.
