Circular Plastic Connectors Are Designed for a Variety of Applications

Oct. 1, 2018
Connectors meet criteria from UL and United States Department of Defense

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, offers Circular Plastic Connectors (CPC) as a standard, rugged and reliable solution suitable for multiple applications. The connectors are now UL Recognized (File No. E28476) and meet criteria for CSA Certification (LR 7189) from the United States Department of Defense.

“In addition to achieving both the UL and CSA certification, TE’s CPC products continue to gain market popularity by reducing installation time while meeting harsh and space-saving requirements,” said Wenbo Zhou, TE Connectivity product manager.

Through their circular configuration, CPC and CPC Cable Assemblies provide designers with an efficient use of real estate and the mounting options include panel mount, free-hanging and wire-to-board. Receptacle and plug housings accept Type III+ or Size 20 signal contacts, Type XII power contacts or AMP POWERBAND (size 8) contacts.

The housings come in six series designed to handle standard and high-density signal, power with current up to 50A per contact and combinations of signal and power in the same housing. Sealing to IP67 is offered in several configurations. The CPC line includes accessories to complete the cable or panel assembly process such as cable clamps and boots, keying plugs and sealing caps.
