New IEEE 802.1Q Amendment Covers Fault Management

IEEE has published a new amendment to the IEEE 802.1ag standard. The amendment, IEEE 802.1Qaw, extends the connectivity fault management capabilities introduced in IEEE Std 802.1ag to include tools to facilitate diagnosis and isolation of faults sensitive to, or caused by, particular data patterns in frames transmitted by a service user.
