G&W Electric’s Mexico Plant has reached a milestone this August, celebrating 10 years of operation.

G&W Electric’s Mexico Plant has reached a milestone this August, celebrating 10 years of operation. Over the last decade, the plant has helped G&W expand their production to help power the world. Employees didn’t just celebrate their anniversary but also their safety. The plant in San Luis Potosí has gone seven years without an accident.

In 2008, the plant started with less than 10 employees and has grown to a multi-million-dollar operation with now all the critical facets of the business including engineering and aftermarket services.  “We are thrilled with the hard work from all of our workers in San Luis Potosí,” said Dan Dykas, President - G&W Electric Mexico. “Since they first began operation, they have played an essential role in G&W’s growth.”

CFE, Mexico’s main utility, is G&W Mexico’s largest customer. CFE mainly purchases and installs fully submersible solid dielectric Trident and SF6 switchgear. G&W provided equipment for CFE’s Reforma project in Mexico City to help lower electricity rates for residents and commercial customers.

For the past 10 years, the plant has helped G&W supply custom engineered solutions based on customer’s specific needs, assembling controls, manufacture Viper Reclosers, SF6 and Trident solid dielectric switchgear.

The plant is ISO 9001 certified, an international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
