As true electric competition expands throughout Pennsylvania, Constellation NewEnergy has developed a website to make it easier for businesses and public-sector energy customers to find the latest information on their electric choice options.

David I. Fein, vice president of Constellation Energy and director of retail energy policy, said, “We developed this site to help those customers currently shopping for electricity and entering the competitive marketplace as rate caps expire throughout the rest of the state at the end of the year. On the website, businesses and other customers can learn about how the competitive marketplace works, find information on seminars and webinars, and also obtain a no-obligation quote to compare prices.”

The website also features the NewEnergy Blog, which offers perspectives on issues shaping the future of the energy markets; a description of each electric utility’s default rates; a checklist to compare competitive electric generation suppliers (EGSs); and information about upcoming webinars and seminars.

Constellation NewEnergy began offering services last year in the PPL region and has signed a number of agreements with commercial, industrial, non-profit and government entities, including Yuengling Brewery, Pennsylvania Foundry Association (PFA), Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUP), and the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities. It has begun signing contracts with customers in the PECO, Penelec, Met-Ed and Allegheny Power service territories, where rate caps will expire on Dec. 31.
