NV5 Geospatial and SPIDA(R) Software Develop Pole Management Integrated Solution

Nov. 13, 2020
The overhead inspection and analysis solution is designed to deliver a single source of truth of overhead pole data quickly, safely, and accurately.

SPIDA(R) Software and NV5 Geospatial (formerly Quantum Spatial) announced a new strategic partnership through which NV5 Geospatial and SPIDA Software have developed an overhead inspection and analysis solution for pole owners and stakeholders that is designed to deliver a single source of truth of overhead pole data quickly, safely, and accurately.

Integration features include:

  • Automated Pole Loading Analysis: Analyze thousands of poles in minutes using third-party verified geometric nonlinear analysis methods.
  • Digital Twin: Easily model exact overhead systems from a single source of truth for consistent analysis and make ready determination reducing the need to revisit a pole to capture missed measurements by ground crews.
  • Securely Integrated and Synchronized Database: Synchronized systems of record for digital twin data and analysis results, detailed asset searching, inventory of equipment and reporting.
  • Automated, accurate, and up-to-date measurements: Quickly take measurements of hundreds of poles up to 40,000 times faster while eliminating data entry errors.
  • Workflow Management: Seamlessly create flexible workflows to automate complex processes such as pole attachment requests and pole transfers across multiple projects.

“We recognize that one of the biggest challenges for our customers when it comes to management of their pole infrastructure is finding a single source of truth,” Rebecca Lasica, VP Commercial Sales at NV5 Geospatial, said. “Combining these two platforms creates a complete solution giving customers full visibility of lidar and spherical imagery for identification of all attachments and equipment on the pole with transparency, control, flexibility over collection, material specification, analysis methods, and workflow automation.”

Brad Johnson, SPIDA Software’s Director of Business Development and Strategy, said: “We are excited to combine over a decade of experience with the management and analysis of pole infrastructure with NV5 Geospatial’s excellence in data capture and analysis to vastly improve the collection to action timeline. By utilizing NV5 Geospatial’s trustworthy measurements, SPIDA’s structure management platform and online analysis service, we will deliver a meaningfully shorter timeline between overhead inspection and action for pole owners. Our combined efforts will lead to reduced maintenance costs, faster time to market for broadband projects, and reduced make-ready costs for pole owners.”
