Line Life Listens: Fishing Tunes
This Father's Day weekend, we at T&D World and the Line Life Podcast wish all lineworkers who are dads a wonderful day full of relaxation. If you find yourself going fishing this Sunday, make sure to listen to our new Line Life Listens playlist.
My husband, Dave, grew up near St. Louis and remembers taking his black lab and his fishing pole down to the nearest creek to fish. We have passed that love of fishing and being out in nature down to our five kids.
For many years now, I have taken my two oldest sons (John, 21, and Paul, 19) fishing at our favorite pond in Lee's Summit, Missouri. I love closing my eyes and listening to the bullfrogs humming in the water, the birds singing in the trees, and spending quality time with my boys, who are both now in college.
Over the years, we've caught everything from catfish and bluegill to trout and bass using everything from worms to fishing lures. Sometimes we catch a lot, other times, all we get are "worm stealers" with little to no bites. Even then, it's one of my favorite experiences with my kids.
As my 10-year-old twins, Anna and Ben, are getting older, they also enjoy joining us for these fishing adventures, along with our 16-year-old daughter, Lily. Spending time by the water is relaxing, peaceful and a fun time that we all look forward to on the weekends.
I hope you enjoy this playlist, which includes a few of the songs we listen to on our way to the pond, like "Fishing in the Dark."
If you have any that you'd like to add to this playlist, email me at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!
