Workers with DTEK, the largest private energy holding company in Ukraine, restored electricity to 426,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions and in the capital city of Kyiv.
Last month, DTEK energy workers repaired power grids in 216 settlements, de-energized due to Russian shelling. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids destroyed by the war after obtaining permission from the AFU and SES.
According to DTEK Grids, the company's transmission and distribution owner and operator, shelling in the southern Dnipropetrovsk region has intensified last month. In February, energy workers restored power to 226,000 homes left without electricity due to the damage of lines and power facilities by shelling.
Active hostilities also have not subsided in the Donetsk region, where power equipment and grids are being damaged continually. Utility workers restore power supply when it becomes possible. Over the course of the month, they managed to restore electric service for 189,000 families.
Yet another attack in early February caused de-energizations in Kyiv. Workers promptly restored electricity to homes of more than 10,000 Kyivans.
“For over two years, our specialists have been working in the conditions of increased danger and repairing grids, destroyed by the enemy attacks. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, energy workers have already restored electricity to more than 11 mln families. Our primary priority is to provide electricity to customers as soon as possible. Energy workers commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES,” said Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
