Wildfires Rage Through Colorado Forcing Evacuations

Oct. 27, 2020
Multiple wildfires in Colorado are burning hundreds of thousands of acres of land.

Wildfires are raging through Colorado, forcing homeowners to evacuate and burning hundreds of thousands of acres. While the recent snowfall has helped in some areas, the fires have still not been contained.

"Snow and freezing temperatures in Colorado have helped to slow the East Troublesome Fire," Xcel Energy Colorado stated on its Facebook page. "We are coordinating with emergency officials and preparing our natural gas system to restore gas service as quickly and safely as possible once customers in Estes Park and Grand Lake are allowed to return to their homes. We will then begin the restoration."

The news clip below from CBS Evening News shows the extent of the damage in Colorado.
