Corteva Launches HighNoon Herbicide for Utility and Roadside Vegetation Management
Corteva Agriscience has announced the nationwide release of HighNoon herbicide, a liquid formulation designed for use by utility and roadside vegetation managers. The product provides control of more than 140 broadleaf weeds and annual grasses and can be tank-mixed to enhance management of certain woody species.
HighNoon combines two active ingredients, Rinskor® and aminopyralid, to target undesirable plants while maintaining desirable grasses and forbs. The formulation is labeled for use in areas extending to the water’s edge and does not carry grazing restrictions, according to the company.
Field testing in western states has demonstrated the herbicide’s performance in controlling challenging species such as thistles, poison hemlock, and wild parsnip. Company representatives note that the product’s liquid formulation is designed for ease of use and compatibility with other herbicides for extended control, including on woody species such as salt cedar and Russian olive.
Rinskor, one of HighNoon’s active ingredients, previously received the Green Chemistry Challenge Award from the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute, recognizing reduced environmental impact in chemical design.
The product’s introduction comes as utilities and transportation agencies continue to seek vegetation management options that balance safety, cost, and environmental considerations.
