The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) is calling on stakeholders, industry members and the public to provide comments on its efforts at developing a reliability standard for the electric grid in the ERCOT power region.

The 87th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 3 in 2021 that requires the PUCT to formulate a reliability standard that boosts the dependability of the ERCOT grid via economic and operational improvements.

The staff at the PUCT have filed a memo that showcases the work undertaken by the commission to formulate the aforementioned reliability standard. The memo calls for input on the project and contains particular questions that respondents must answer. The memo also calls for a standalone executive summary as part of the filing.
