Hughes Network Systems, LLC has announced the availability of its 9201-M2M terminal that provides a single, universal SCADA solution operating over Inmarsat's BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) satellite service. Rugged and easy-to-use, the Hughes 9201-M2M is fully IP-compatible and is configured for self-contained SCADA operation via a standard Ethernet interface.

Suitable for the utility industry, the Hughes 9201-M2M can be readily packaged for continuous monitoring and control of remote sites, such as utility SmartMeter backhaul and backup to VSAT networks. Compact and versatile, the 9201-M2M is a secure, cost-effective, and "always-on" SCADA solution for a wide range of traffic sites handling kilobytes, megabytes or even gigabytes of data. Customers may also choose to apply the terminal's inherent two-way SMS interface for expanded remote command and control.

Easy to install and connect, the Hughes 9201-M2M single-box solution reduces maintenance and troubleshooting costs, and is designed to withstand demanding weather conditions for extended periods of time. Fully IP compatible, it supports SMTP email, file transfer (FTP), and VPNs.
