Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. has added several new features to both the SEL-3373 Station Phasor Data Concentrator and the SEL-5073 synchroWAVe PDC. These new features improve performance and usability as well as fulfill new requirements for Smart Grid Investment Grant awards.

A new, enhanced user interface makes SEL PDCs easier to configure. To help fulfill NERC PRC-002-2 disturbance recording requirements, SEL has incorporated an automated archive collection service for aggregating distributed archives to a central long-term storage location. Additionally, new security enhancements, as well as support for additional communications transport protocols for inputs and outputs, help meet requirements for critical infrastructure protection. Building on the successful customer adoption of SEL synchrophasor systems, these improvements are now standard features in the SEL-3373 and SEL-5073 PDCs, and are available as no-charge upgrades for existing customers.
