Extech Instruments now offers a comprehensive line of InfraRed Thermometers for instantaneous non-contact temperature readings. Extech’s IR thermometers are available based on temperature range, distance-to-target ratio and fixed or adjustable emissivity. Also offered are specialty IR thermometers for data logging and wireless data transmission as well as a broad range of measurement devices with integrated IR thermometers.
High-temperature IR thermometers are ideal for applications where temperature range is a critical factor. Measuring temperatures as low as –58°F (-50°C) to a high of 1922°F (1050°C), the models 42515, 42540, 42545 and 42560 feature adjustable and auto adjustable emissivity with varying distance-to-target ratios including 13:1, 16:1, 30:1 and 50:1. The 42545’s highly focused 50:1 ratio allows for safe measurement of targets that are too small or too dangerous to get close to.
Mid-Range IR thermometers feature an 8:1 distance-to-target ratio with temperature ranges from -58°F (-50°C) to 1100°F (600°C). Models are available with fixed or adjustable emissivity and include the 42510, 42530, 42580, and the E220 EzFlex Gooseneck IR with a 16-inch (460 mm) flexible probe.
Compact IR thermometers measure from –58°F (-50°C) to 752°F (400°C) with a 6:1 distance to target ratio. The models in this series are available with fixed or adjustable emissivity and include the 42525A, 42500, 42529, the IR201 and the IR205.
Pocket-Sized IR thermometers measure from –27°F (-33°C) to 446°F (230°C) with a 1:1 distance to target ratio. The IR301 model with adjustable emissivity features the addition of a fold-up Type K stainless steel probe for contact measurements, while the most economical mini IR100 with fixed emissivity provides IR measurements in an extremely small housing.
Specialty IR thermometers include the Model 42582, which provides data logging and on-the-spot paper printouts, the Model 42560, which features a wireless transmitter that allows data to be transmitted to a PC or notebook computer, and the Model 42515 with Type K thermocouple inputs for when contact measurement must be performed in conjunction with non-contact measurement.
