Tendril and Elster have entered into a formal integration and reseller agreement that will extend the footprint and provide seamless integration of the Tendril Connect cloud platform with Elster’s EnergyAxis Smart Grid system.

The agreement is designed to deepen the integration between the companies’ complementary solutions and provide a broadened advanced metering infrastructure offering for efficient home energy management and demand response. In addition, the partnership includes a formal licensing agreement under which the companies will jointly market Tendril energy management solutions, including Tendril Energize, a suite of demand management applications, to the significant number of utilities using Elster’s EnergyAxis. As a result, utilities can connect to their consumers beyond the smart meter in a secure, scalable, reliable way and deliver applications that engage consumers in home energy management.

It enables utilities and their customers to realize the true benefits of the smart grid, such as operational efficiencies, energy conservation, reduced outages and value-added customer services.

Tendril Connect provides the communications, extensibility and security necessary to support millions of smart meters and other networked devices, allowing utilities to connect with consumers across multiple touch points. Built from the ground up to handle big data, it applies behavioral science expertise and analytics to generate the intelligence from connected devices needed to support the emerging marketplace of new energy products and services.
