MRO Software Inc., a provider of asset and service management solutions, has designated Bellwood Systems, a Russia-based IT solutions provider, its official Center of Competence for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

MRO Software and Bellwood Systems have built a strong relationship in Russia over the last few years, during which time Maximo software has been implemented to manage the strategic assets of a number of major organizations in the region, including Unified Energy System of Russia (Volga Hydro Power Cascade), BP, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, among others.

MRO Software's decision to move Bellwood Systems from reseller to Center of Competence demonstrates the company's commitment to implementing a channel model in Russia and the CIS. By leveraging the expertise developed by Bellwood Systems over the years, MRO Software will improve its presence and visibility in the region. Under the direction of MRO Software's Product & Technology Department, Bellwood Systems is responsible for managing the localization of Maximo into Russian, enabling the needs of the territory to be covered by a qualified local support center.

The two companies have been involved in several projects, including the recent implementation of Maximo at nine of Volga Hydro Power Cascade's power stations. This initiative includes improving Volga Hydro's competitiveness by streamlining and optimizing all business processes related to the management of key assets at the stations, such as equipment maintenance, inspections, condition monitoring, inventory, purchasing and work planning. Maximo was selected from six leading global and Russian asset management software vendors.

Since joining forces with MRO Software, Bellwood Systems has also been growing its expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and IT and Service Management (ITSM). With the experience and training in these new markets, Bellwood is positioned to offer a broader range of solutions to the Russian and CIS markets.

"The success with the first implementation of Maximo in the Russian hydro energy sector and the growth of interest in Russia for asset and service management solutions makes us believe that Maximo will be very successful among other Russian asset-intensive enterprises and industry sectors," said Sergei Sevriugin, a member of Bellwood Systems' Board of Directors. "Additionally, we are excited about the opportunities offered with Maximo Enterprise Suite's IT Service Management to enable organizations in the region to improve and optimize their IT processes, service levels and the return from their IT assets."

"We are pleased to be working with Bellwood Systems to support the Russian territory. We can see great opportunities for organizations across the region to improve their operating efficiency, and strengthen their competitive position through implementing Maximo for asset and service management." said Marco Bucci, vice president EMEA at MRO Software. "Maximo offers great potential benefits for organizations that implement the solution to maximize the value and performance they obtain from the assets that are core to business success."
