LogicaCMG has combined its risk- and requirement-based testing for software quality assurance with Compuware's knowledge in developing enterprise QA solutions to create a 360 solution named Q-Talk. Compuware business partners create 360 solutions by combining their methodologies and delivery expertise with Compuware's testing software to build repeatable high-value solutions. Q-Talk will help IT departments communicate the importance, business impact and return on investment of software testing to business unit customers. Additionally, Q-Talk will reduce time-to-delivery while mitigating project risk and increasing software quality.

"IT organizations often experience difficulties working with business units to define and prioritize test requirements," said Anton Martens, director of testing, international lines of business, LogicaCMG. "LogicaCMG addresses this issue by creating solutions that help IT departments communicate more effectively with non-technical business users. This allows them to quickly identify and manage the testing requirements with the greatest business risks. Instead of having an overview of the test cases and their related requirements that are executed, business users prefer to have an overview of the risks that are covered. This requires testers to combine requirement-based testing with risk-based testing."

This collaboration between LogicaCMG and Compuware will help both companies' customers gain better control and visibility throughout the development life cycle while improving quality. LogicaCMG's services team worked closely with Compuware's technical experts to develop a compelling offering that fulfills LogicaCMG's quality assurance vision and satisfies the needs of its customers.

Martens added, "Another challenge we often face is the fact that the software used by business analysts and requirement engineers to manage the requirements is not directly integrated with the QA software used by the test team, adding complexity to a project. Q-Talk provides robust integration, enabling all assets created for requirements through automated testing to be easily traced and leveraged through a project. It also simplifies reporting on the status of the risks covered and tested."
