Industrial Router for Utility Field Communications
BEC Technologies has introduced the MX-320-UT 5G RedCap Industrial Router for utility field communications, supporting connectivity across public cellular networks, Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) shared spectrum and private Anterix 900 MHz networks.
The router uses 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) technology, which is designed to reduce modem cost, complexity and power demands compared with 5G enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) solutions. RedCap is intended for applications that do not require multi-gigabit throughput, including remote monitoring, distribution automation and control.
The MX-320-UT 5G has earned the Anterix Active designation, confirming successful validation for deployment on private LTE networks using Anterix's 900 MHz spectrum. Built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon SDX35-3 IoT modem platform, the router also provides an upgrade path to Anterix's expanded 10 MHz broadband configuration, consisting of paired 5 MHz uplink and downlink channels.
Connectivity options include dual Gigabit Ethernet, RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial interfaces and digital I/O for connecting existing controllers and IP-based equipment. BECentral, BEC Technologies' device management platform, supports centralized provisioning, monitoring and troubleshooting, as well as remote device control across distributed sites.
BEC Technologies is showcasing the MX-320-UT 5G at the 2026 UBBA Summit & Plugfest, Oct. 12-15, at The Worthington Renaissance in Fort Worth, Texas.
