Massena Electric Department in Massena, New York, is Harris Computer Systems' first customer to go live with Systems & Software’s enQuesta 4 solution.

MED, a long-time customer of S&S, had upgraded its legacy enQuesta data environment with enQuesta 3e in November 2008. It was during this upgrade that MED learned of S&S’ enQuesta 4 beta opportunity and made plans to implement enQuesta 4 at its earliest availability.

The enQuesta 4 solution offers utilities the ability to proactively select the individual components that are critical to their organization’s success along their meter-to-cash value chain. While one organization’s long-term success requires a utility billing, customer self-service, and MDM solution, another may dictate an ERP and a paperless environment using enQuesta 4’s Mobile Field Management and Document Management modules. enQuesta 4 offers these options plus many more while keeping the concept of ‘Vermont Green’ woven within each module.

MED selected a rapid 5-month implementation plan that began in mid-January 2010, followed by an aggressive testing phase, which, as is the case with all beta deployments, continued right up to the moment of go-live. There were a few minor issues leading up to the go-live, but the collaborative efforts of S&S’ on-site and off-site support resolved them quickly, to ensure that the enQuesta 4 go-live went smoothly; there were no major operational interruptions due to application errors which is a key ingredient for any successful go-live.

Lori Pryce, Deputy Treasurer of MED, commented, “Our training needs were met thoroughly with the flexibility necessary to afford everyone adequate instruction. The testing/simulation phase gave us enough time to identify issues, ask questions, make suggestions and request changes to accommodate our business processes. Our go-live week was very productive. Thanks to a fully engaged project team and everyone supporting us remotely, we were left with a very manageable issue list. I appreciate all the assistance afforded MED during this project and hope everyone at S&S is as pleased with the outcome as we are.”
