Central Maine Power to Install 600,000 Smart Meters

VSI Meter Services, Inc. has begun providing full installation services for approximately 620,000 smart meters throughout CMP’s 11,000-square-mile service territory.

VSI Meter Services, Inc., in support of a major AMI project at Central Maine Power Co., has begun providing full installation services for approximately 620,000 smart meters throughout CMP’s 11,000-square-mile service territory.

VSI has installed over nine million endpoints and anticipates the successful completion of CMP’s project within the 18-month schedule.

A subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, CMP is the first utility in the Iberdrola Group to initiate a smart grid project in the United States. The completion date is set for early 2012.
