Landis+Gyr Partners with Silver Spring Networks to Offer Smart Meters in Brazil

Silver Spring Networks has announced a partnership to provide an integrated smart grid solution in Brazil with Landis+Gyr. Under the agreement, Landis+Gyr will provide E22 and E34 meters and the SGP+M system equipped with Silver Spring Communications Modules. The Silver Spring Smart Energy Platform combines network infrastructure, software and professional services to enable a range of smart grid applications. The combined solution will deliver fully integrated, end-to-end, IPv6-based communications.

Earlier this year, Silver Spring incorporated in Brazil and opened an office in São Paulo. Additionally, Silver Spring expects to manufacture locally beginning in 2011, which will strengthen ties with Landis+Gyr’s products including the SGP+M System which was selected by Brazil in 2009 as the nation’s first approved smart meter system.
