Wipro and SRC Cyber to Develop Cyber Security for Utilities

The two companies will jointly develop IT security products and provide consulting services that will serve organizations across the global energy and utilities industry value chain.

Wipro Ltd. and SRC Cyber have announced a global alliance. The two companies will jointly develop IT security products and provide consulting services that will serve organizations across the global energy and utilities industry value chain.

According to industry studies, in 2014 nearly 70% of companies across more than 10 countries with large economies said that they “have had at least one security breach that led to the loss of confidential information or disruption to operations” in the past year. Wipro and SRC Cyber’s joint value proposition is of strategic importance given this security environment.

Wipro brings a wide-ranging set of IT solutions for the cyber security domain and cyber security best practices in addition to expertise in the energy and utility sector, to this alliance. In addition, Wipro will provide access to a broad customer pool. SRC Cyber has experience in solving enterprise challenges using its wide range of cyber solutions.

The joint offering aims to provide customers with an entire gamut of solutions and services, ranging from strategy development, compliance adherence, operations optimization to project delivery. Wipro’s global security consulting and energy domain expertise combined with SRC Cyber’s leading edge products and services for the energy and utilities industries will deliver a comprehensive set of solutions that will help customers address current and emerging threats.

In addition, Wipro and SRC Cyber will jointly help utilities recognize, address and mitigate internal threats arising from the human interface of their operations. This joint offering by Wipro and SRC Cyber will also help customers in North America comply with the NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards, a set of requirements designed to secure assets vital to reliably operating North America's electrical grid.
