East Kentucky Power Cooperative will replace and upgrade its legacy SCADA/EMS system with Multi-platform Open Network Architecture technology.

Headquartered in Winchester, Kentucky (near Lexington), EKPC is a not-for-profit, generation and transmission utility, providing wholesale energy services to its 16 member distribution cooperatives, through power plants, peaking units, hydro power and across more than 2,900 miles of transmission lines.

In an effort to upgrade and modernize its expansive membership cooperatives’ generation and transmission infrastructure, EKPC has elected to replace its existing SCADA/EMS system, with OSI’s monarch platform. The new SCADA/EMS system will be based on OSI’s next-generation Microsoft .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI) and will include several of OSI’s advanced application products for transmission and generation control.
