Electrical distributor Stuart C. Irby Co., a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, was one of the first responders for both Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike in September 2008.

Electrical distributor Stuart C. Irby Co. (Jackson, Mississippi, U.S.), a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, was one of the first responders for both Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike in September 2008. Irby personnel provided logistics and warehouse support, manned local inventory staging sites and assisted with procurement sourcing. The company also provided tractor trailers, pickup trucks and stake body trucks to deliver material to the utilities' store rooms and staging sites, as well as vans for utility personnel to get around to the various work sites.

Products that were of high demand from Irby included conductor, splices, connectors, anchors, transformers, pole line hardware, insulators, cutouts, arresters, crossarms and wood braces.
