RIDGID introduces the Model TC-40 powered plastic pipe and tube cutter for fast, easy cuts without the need for ratcheting. The RIDGID cutter is intended for polyethylene, polypropylene, PEX, rubber hose, PVC and CPVC with a capacity up to 1¨ý inches outer diameter. A 75-W motor drives the sharp, pointed X-CEL blade to provide a square, precise cut in 4 seconds. Repeat cuts can quickly follow with the use of the push-button blade release. Forward and reverse blade operation is simple with the use of a single trigger on the front of the tool. The product is powered by a detachable 12-V lithium-ion battery, enabling it to make up to 250 cuts per charge.

The 2.5-lb powered cutter is designed with a pistol grip for an ergonomic feel and firm hold. The X-CEL blade can be replaced (without using any tools) simply by removing the quick-change pin. An LED at the front of the tool provides additional lighting for accurate cutting in low-light environments, and a battery level indicator on the back of the tool lets the user know when to recharge the battery. The cutter and charger come packaged in a rugged plastic carrying case that makes the tool easy to carry to the job site.
