Amphibious equipment conquers the Florida Everglades.

In early 2019, Illinois-based Aldridge Electric crews wrapped up a year-long project working on foundations for the new 500kV Corbett-Sugar-Quarry T-Line. This line runs 69 miles from the Corbett and Sugar substations in Palm Beach County to the Quarry substation in Miami-Dade County.

Aldridge scope included 540 drilled shafts, 576 direct embeds, and 376 anchors. The work also entailed installing drilled pier foundations and anchor piles.

Work along the 15 miles of the overall project were only accessible through canal waterways. Following are images from the challenging transmission project.
