Transgrid Selects Proponents For HumeLink Transmission Line Project In Australia

March 8, 2023
Award concerns work in the eastern portion of the project in New South Wales.

Transgrid has chosen Kalpataru Power Transmission (KPTL), Genus Plus Group and Acciona Construction Australia as the Preferred Proponent for the eastern half of the HumeLink transmission line project in Australia.

The project, divided into two portions – east and west – concerns infrastructure upgrades and new transmission lines at four substation locations in New South Wales.

HumeLink is a key transmission project in Australia as the nation transitions from old coal‐fired power stations, thereby ensuring supply of electricity to the country’s citizens.

The project concerns the construction of a transmission line that spans 356 km in New South Wales. The three aforementioned awardees will deliver their work as part of a joint venture. The value of the project will be known after the completion of the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Stage 2 process.
