Alectra Utilities is continuing its efforts to revitalize underground cables in Brampton, Ontario. The company, which serves about one million customers across a 2,200-sq-km service territory, recently completed a modernization project totaling $2.2 million.
To improve electrical service reliability in the community, the company replaced older deteriorated cables as part of an infrastructure upgrade initiative. The project included replacing 8.2 km of underground cable supported by eight new above-grade pad-mounted switching units.
