ETAC Unveils Dual-Voltage Padmount Transformers and High-Voltage Substation Units
ETAC Service & Supply has introduced two new transformer designs for utility distribution and high-voltage substation applications. The company’s Dual-Voltage Padmount Transformers are engineered to eliminate the need for transformer replacement during feeder voltage upgrades. The units incorporate an integrated dual-voltage primary switching system and are built to CSA C227.4 standards. They support two primary voltages—4.16 kV and 24.49 kV Wye—and standard secondary voltages of either 208Y/120V or 600Y/347V. The design features copper windings, five-legged core construction, radiator-free enclosures, primary connections, and square padmount enclosures for an aesthetically pleasing appearance. One configuration will be on display at ETAC Booth 4745 during the 2026 IEEE PES T&D Conference & Expo.
ETAC is also introducing its Dead-Front High-Voltage Substation Transformers, available in ratings from 3,000 kVA up to 20 MVA. These units offer primary voltage options of 44 kV, 66 kV, 115 kV, and 138 kV, with secondary voltages ranging from 600 V up to 138 kV. Built to CSA C88:16 standards, the design integrates underground cabling within a fully tamper-resistant enclosure, eliminating exposed high-voltage connections. This configuration reduces substation footprint and infrastructure requirements while offering monitoring and control options.
