The Entergy Smart Meter lab and farm were built in 2018 to support the smart meter and Grid modernization effort for Entergy. They were established to provide more useful customer function while at the same time strengthening the resiliency of the grid. The lab’s main goal is to help to proof test the Smart cities and mesh network technology related devices such as the Smart meter, Access points and upcoming smart street lights. The lab is equipped with state of the art testing equipment and also has a meter farm to proof test and simulate grid operation.
