The conference will allow those in the industry to share their most pressing needs related to GIS and pipelines in the coming years

Tulsa, OK, February 6, 2009 - The PODS Association (www.pods.org) announced today they are hosting a conference for the pipeline GIS industry on March 31 and April 1, 2009. This conference will be held at Fluor Enterprises in Sugar Land, Texas. Registration is free and open to anyone in the pipeline industry including energy, chemicals, water, etc. Attendees may register for one day or both days.

Mapping Our Pipeline Future: March 31, 2009. Operators and service providers will meet together for a full day of active discussions on the current and future needs of the industry. Along with defining the needs of the pipeline industry, we will determine how to best meet these needs and what changes will be required. This conference is designed to promote active participation in attendee driven topics. Suggested topics include: key issues facing operators, enterprise integration, vertical integration (gathering, transmission, and distribution), field deployment, and emerging technologies.

PODS User Group Meeting: April 1, 2009. During this meeting, we will focus on positioning the PODS Association to serve the industry for the future. This will include a discussion of the previous day's meeting and a five year strategy. The PODS Association will also provide a demonstration of the PODS ESRI Geodatabase, the PODS Oracle Spatial Model, and an Introduction to PODS Seminar.
