July 14, 2010 -- BURNDY®, a manufacturer and provider of connector solutions to the industrial, energy, construction, telecommunication, petrochemical, data center, and transportation industries, announces the introduction of our new “Certified Green Idle” tractor-trailer.

This new BURNDY® tractor-trailer travels between the company's Littleton and Lincoln, New Hampshire manufacturing plants to our Londonderry, New Hampshire distribution center.

This new truck is "Certified Green Idle" technology and is one of the first of their kind in the U.S. to meet the 2010 emissions standards. This tractor-trailer uses an auxiliary power system to generate power for cab heating, cab cooling, and operating ancillary cab appliances. These units can also be used to heat the engine block in cold weather and recharge the vehicle's battery. Because of the engine's smaller size, operating an auxiliary power system uses only a fraction of the fuel that would be used by idling the vehicle's primary engine. Less fuel equals fewer emissions.

The BURNDY® delivery truck that travels between our Bethel, Connecticut foundry and our Londonderry, New Hampshire distribution center has similar graphics to the one on our new tractor-trailer; designed to focus on our core products and marketplaces along with our updated logo and a tagline-reminding everyone that we are a New England-based US manufacturer.

BURNDY® trucks attract attention whether on the road or in a parking lot and their bright branding graphics reflects the long tradition of BURNDY® innovation and expertise. The graphics on these trucks integrate seamlessly with our other branding activities including print and electronic ads, catalogs, brochures, packaging, trade shows and our Web Site.
