Proven Energy Storage Systems Deployed at Sites Nationwide

SAN DIEGO – February 3, 2009 – Ice Energy®, the leading provider of distributed energy storage and smart grid solutions for optimizing energy system efficiency, today announced that it has passed the milestone of more than 2 million hours of cumulative field run time for its systems in deployment across the United States.

The announcement was made at DistribuTECH 2009, where the company is exhibiting in Booth 522.

Ice Energy's innovative solutions for utilities integrate the company's effectively lossless distributed energy storage technology with closed loop, two-way control and an advanced software infrastructure to permanently reshape the load curve and fundamentally transform energy system efficiency and reliability.

“Over the past several years, Ice Energy has perfected its storage technology, software and system deployment programs,” said Ice Energy CEO Frank Ramirez. “We are pleased to mark this reliability milestone here at DistribuTECH, where we are demonstrating the only proven and cost-effective distributed energy storage solution available for scaled utility deployments today.”

Unlike load management cycling or other curtailment programs that negatively impact customer comfort and economic productivity, Ice Energy systems shift energy consumption from high-impact daytime hours to low-impact nighttime hours. With the Ice Energy solution, utilities reduce peak energy costs and integrate intermittent renewable resources onto the grid without compromising the reliability or quality of service provided to consumers.
