    This panel will feature presentations by utilities, consultants and vendors who are involved in setting new directions for outage management systems and outage response processes. This includes new R&D, new approaches that are underway, and lessons learned from some recent projects and deployments. Topics covered will include preparing and performing storm drills for better readiness, integrating emergency response with other first response organizations, new technology for OMS platforms and integration, new OMS functions including tighter integration with DMS, and capabilities for multi-channel customer communications including capabilities like proactive outage notifications via text messages, mobile apps and the internet.
