• Super Session: Aging Infrastructure and Asset Management

    The 2014 IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference will feature the Aging Infrastructure and Asset Management topics in its super session on Wednesday, April 16, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Many existing power systems are currently approaching or exceeding their expected service lifetimes. Power systems with aged infrastructures can experience sudden increases in equipment failures, maintenance calls and replacement costs, leading to steady increases in power delivery asset maintenance efforts. This super session will examine the challenges of aging infrastructure and possible response measures to control effects and costs.
