Smart Grid Interoperability Panel Conference to be Held in New Orleans

SGIP’s Annual Conference will take place Nov. 3-5, 2015, in New Orleans, Louisiana bringing the industry’s thought leaders to the Big Easy.

The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel is holding its Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana at the InterContinental Hotel.

With 300 attendees expected and speaker program comprised of utility, vendor, and industry senior executives, the SGIP 2015 Annual Conference promises to be filled with the latest in grid modernization and networking opportunities for non-members, members and guests to connect and collaborate.

Included in the conference is an exclusive Vendor Expo where vendor, utility and technology partners will demonstrate the interoperability of grid devices and their progress on collaborative microgrid projects. A highlight of the Vendor Expo will be the EnergyIoT™ OpenFMB™ field demonstration, a multi-vendor peer-to-peer demonstration based on three microgrid related use cases driven by the SGIP OpenFMB™ Working Group in collaboration with Duke Energy and 8 other utility members. This is a must-see event for anyone interested in IoT interoperability and grid modernization.

The two day summit will be followed by a one-day hands-on Workshop digging into topic details and work efforts to accelerate Grid Modernization activity.

Charles Rice

Charles Rice has served as president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans, Inc., a $750 million electric and gas utility, since June 2010. Rice holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Howard University, a juris doctorate from Loyola University’s School of Law and an MBA from Tulane University. After graduating from Howard University, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served as a military intelligence officer with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Ky.

Calvin Butler

Calvin Butler has been the CEO and President of BGE for over a year now. He was promoted in early 2014 from Senior Vice President of Regulatory and External Affairs. Mr. Butler received his Bachelor's Degree from Bradley University, and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Michael Carlson

Michael Carlson is the President of Smart Grid in North America for Siemens. Before coming to Siemens, Mr. Carlson was the General Manager of Software solutions for at General Electric. Mr. Carlson received his Bachelors of Science degree from Union College, and his MBA from Pepperdine University.

Sharelynn Moore

Sharelynn Moore has been the Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Public Affairs at Itron for over 3 years. Ms. Moore was promoted from within the company, from Senior Director of Corporate Marketing and Communications. Ms. Moore received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Idaho, and received her MBA from Gonzaga University.
