SOS Intl and APT Global have partnered to provide training, compliance and education services to the electric power industry.

SOS Intl (SOS) and APT Global (APT) have partnered to provide training, compliance and education services to the electric power industry. The partnership provides clients with experience in the areas of generation, transmission, distribution and telecommunications. Training topics include system operations, engineering, security, planning, renewable energy, and smart grid technologies.

“We believe this partnership will provide a powerful and comprehensive training opportunity for our clients,” said Rocky Sease, owner and CEO of SOS. “By combining our efforts, SOS and APT can offer a complete array of electric power courses, in addition to certifications, continuing education and college credit training our students need.”

Through this partnership power companies and students will now have an expanded range of subjects to select in both online and classroom training. Delivery platform options include online, instructor-led webcast, and traditional classroom training.

“By partnering with SOS, students will have many more options to meet their professional goals and technical training needs,” said Steve Blume, Founder of APT.

Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., SOS Intl is a leading provider of training and consulting to the power industry.  Founded by CEO Rocky Sease, SOS rigorously tracks and interprets NERC Reliability Standards and expertly translates them into customized education and compliance consulting, helping to manage risk and ensure reliability for the North American power grid.

SOS offers NERC system operator certification, classroom and online courses, accompanied by sophisticated computer simulation. Since 2002, SOS has provided NERC-approved continuing education and compliance consulting to thousands of employees of the Bulk Electric System across the United States and Canada. All are designed using the latest systematic approach to training, as required by NERC.

Founded in 1993 by Steven W. Blume, APT offers a variety of electric power and telecommunications training options for both credit and non-credit recognition. In 2003, APT became a Distance Education and Training Council accredited institution.  Through APT Global’s subsidiary APT College, student’s training, educational courses and experiential credit can now apply towards an Associate’s Degrees in Applied Sciences in Electric Power Systems.
