On Wed., Oct. 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Danny Raines, president of Raines Utility Safety Solutions, will present Proper Distribution Cover Up at the International Lineman's Conference & Expo Safety and Training Conference.
The following topics and points will be covered in the 1.5-hour presentation:
- History of Cover up. How did we get to where we are today? Methods of training, Transition from Pole to Bucket Truck
- Accident Review of fatalities and contacts from improper application or failure to use proper cover equipment
- 29 CFR 1910.269(l) Minimum Approach Distances required by employer or Alternative Table 6 in 269 Standard
- Proper Selection (class and rating) Inspection of cover materials.
Raines founded Raines Utility Safety Solutions, LLC and CompDrive, LLC, is an affiliate instructor at Georgia Tech Research Institute, and an OSHA-authorized safety trainer.
He will also present the Review Class for 20 + utility employees for the Certified Utility Safety Professional, CUSP, test on Monday and Tuesday prior to the Rodeo Safety Class on Tuesday.
