Technicians tasked with replacing worn or stuck auger teeth now have an alternative to traditional removal methods. Auger Technologies has introduced a redesigned version of its Bullet Tooth Puller—an impact-driven tool designed to quickly extract conical bits from augers, cold planers, asphalt grinders, and similar equipment, even when teeth are lodged in blind holes.

To be highlighted at the Utility Expo, the updated Bullet Tooth Puller features a cylindrical design for better heat dispersion and a more robust construction to improve durability in tough field conditions. The tool is operated with an impact wrench (or manually with a standard wrench), significantly reducing the time and physical strain typically associated with tooth removal.

Traditionally, removing auger teeth involved fork wrenches or other manual tools that could be slow, inconsistent, and potentially hazardous. With the Bullet Tooth Puller, the process is streamlined: a split-ring collet fits over the worn bit, a driver arm locks into place, and an extractor screw is used to drive the tooth free. Once removed, reversing the screw releases the bit from the collet—ready for replacement.

The tool is compatible with any standard conical teeth and is especially effective for equipment with blind-hole bit configurations, such as pavement grinders and cold planers. With stuck or worn teeth often sidelining valuable augers, this device allows users to recover and reuse equipment that might otherwise be discarded.

By making tooth replacement quicker and safer, the Bullet Tooth Puller can help contractors reduce downtime, restore productivity, and extend the life of their equipment.

The Bullet Tooth Puller (Part #9055) is available now for .865-inch bits, with versions for larger (.990) bits also in stock. Auger Technologies also offers compatible drivers for easy reinsertion of new auger teeth.
