Walking the 2025 Rodeo Red Carpet

After a long day of competition out on the Rodeo grounds, lineworkers and their families look forward to the celebration: the awards banquet. Over the years, this event has grown and grown, with the 2025 event filling up the Overland Park Convention Center. 

Although I've covered the line trade for 18 years, this is the second year I've been able to attend the banquet, and I love seeing the smiles and hearing the applause from the crowd as the winners walk the stage. 

This year, I took some shots of the competitors as they were waiting to hear how they placed in each event. As their names were called, they hugged their teammates or smiled at their loved ones in the audience and started on their long stroll on the red carpet and across the stage to accept their awards. Here are some of those red carpet pictures at this year's awards banquet.
