Line Life Podcast: A Lifetime of Memories in the Line Trade

June 16, 2022
Greg McGriff, a shift serviceman for Entergy Mississippi, retired after 32 years of service. In our June 2022 podcast, he shares his experiences in the trade.

When working storms, linemen work long hours in severe weather conditions to repair infrastructure and restore power. One lineman--Greg McGriff, a shift serviceman for Entergy Mississippi--went above and beyond the call of duty on Hurricane Ida. As a result, his company awarded McGriff with the Plus One award from his utility for providing exceptional service.

For our June 2022 Line Life podcast, Field Editor Amy Fischbach interviews McGriff, who recently retired with 32 years of service from Entergy Mississippi. During the interview, he talks about his experiences restoring power after Ida, in which 28,000 workers from 41 states traveled to Louisiana to provide assistance.

During the interview, he also reflects on his decades in the line trade and his memories of line work. To listen to the podcast, simply click on the link below. You can also view all of our podcast episodes by visiting our landing page or our new Podcast page on our T&D World site.
