Line Life Podcast: Women in Line Work

Sept. 17, 2021
Our fifth podcast, which is sponsored by Milwaukee Tool, highlights women in the line trade and features an interview with Emma Landherr, who is restoring power in New Orleans following Hurricane Ida.

Our September 2021 Line Life podcast, sponsored by Milwaukee Tool and narrated by Danielle Blanchette, showcases the stories of six women in the line trade, who were featured in the 2021 Lineman Supplement story written by Amy Fischbach. They are all at different points in their careers and got into trade for different reasons, but they all share a love for line work and can’t imagine doing anything else.

The podcast highlights:

  • Corry Ruch of Hydro One
  • Lorrie Reece of Southern California Edison
  • Renee Nickles of Portland General Electric
  • Rae-Lynn Hawco of Voltage Power
  • Paige Spietz of Evergy
  • Lana Norton of Women of Powerline Technicians

In addition, the podcast features an interview with Field Editor Amy Fischbach and Emma Landherr, who is the November 2021 featured lineworker in T&D World. She shares her experiences working as a woman in the line trade and restoring power in New Orleans following Hurricane Ida.
