Dr Maik Hyrenbach graduated from Duisburg University in 1995 with a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. He has worked at ABB since 1996, specialising in gas insulated medium voltage switchgear. In 2012, he became part of an international team of experts at ABB responsible for new sustainable technologies to replace the use of SF6 in gas insulated switchgear. Moreover, he is an active member for several international organizations and working groups such as GIGRE, IEC, ZVEI, T&D Europe, DKE and EN. Dr Hyrenbach currently is Corporate Executive Engineer at ABB for medium voltage gas insulated switchgear.
