Arborists in the Spotlight

Nov. 10, 2020
YouTube videos showcase a day in the life of arborists at work in the field.

For professional arborists, who are trained in the care and maintenance of trees, their office is the great outdoors.  The following arborists, who are featured in YouTube videos, said they wouldn't have it any other way.

Do you have a video or photos of your arborists hard at work in the field? If so, email Field Editor Amy Fischbach, and it could appear in a future issue of Vegetation Management Insights, which comes out the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

On YouTube, if you look for videos of arborists, you will find clips of professionals trimming, clearing and maintaining trees. In some how-to videos, they also give tips on everything from pruning to pursuing a career in the industry.

Here are just a few of the many video clips focusing on arborists. For example,  in this Macleans "Cool Jobs" video from a few years ago, which captured more than 52,000 views, Arborist Krista Strating discusses why she enjoys her job in arboriculture in Ontario, Canada.

In the next video, learn how Hydro One Forestry crews keep transmission line corridors and distribution lines clear of vegetation to reduce power outages and maintain reliability across Ontario.

The final video shows the arborists hard at work for Wright Tree Service.
