Sherman+Reilly Launches Heritage Line Pullers, Tensioners

July 9, 2021
New features of the PT3000H include a patented, bolt-action direct drive drum engagement system, an intuitive control panel, a work platform, a redesigned overhead canopy, and an operator footrest.

Sherman + Reilly has launched a new line of pullers and tensioners with the first deliveries of its PT-3000H product.

“We are designing the Heritage Series around three core objectives – versatility, economy, and safety” CEO Mike Dunn said. “We spoke with many of our customers and distilled down what they told us they wanted: ‘old school’ feel, solid, easy-to-use products with the operator safety features for which Sherman+Reilly units are well known. With the shift towards rental and increasing utility outsourcing of construction, the industry needs products that withstand the pressure of multiple generations of linemen experience and frankly deliver consistent reliability and safety.”

The first in a series of Heritage products, the PT-3000H, is a single-drum, multi-purpose distribution puller/tensioner capable of pulling up to 3,100 pounds overhead and up to 7,500 pounds underground, as well as tensioning at low forces – down to 100 lbs., hydraulically and even less force manually.

New features of the PT3000H include a patented, bolt-action direct drive drum engagement system, an intuitive control panel, a work platform, a redesigned overhead canopy, and an operator footrest. The unit’s open-air operator station has its patented, wrap-around Safe-Shield screen. The Easyway work platform makes access for drum changes safer and simpler, allowing the operator to stay on the unit for all operations.

Equipped with a dual purpose hydraulically actuated levelwind, the PT-3000H can handle most utility distribution line build projects. Along with ability to serve as an overhead puller and a tensioner, the PT-3000H also comes ready to serve double duty as an underground puller with a built-in underground sheave.

The PT-3000H also meets the need to address access challenges with the single-axle dual-tire configuration for easy maneuverability in tight, off-road or wet working conditions. Total trailer length is 16.6 feet. There are three trim levels offered ranging from a base unit with manual jacks to including hydraulic jacks and a Spider Pilot Line System with an independent levelwind.

Sherman+Reilly is also introducing its TRADE-UP program. If at any time in the first three years of ownership, a customer wants to trade a Heritage Product in for the next step-up in the line of Sherman+Reilly products, the customer may trade-up and receive credit towards the purchase of the new unit: Year 1=90%, Year 2=75% Year 3 = 65% of the original Heritage unit purchase price.
