ATC Substation Nearing Completion

The construction of the ATC Mackinac Substation in St. Ignace, Michigan, by M. J. Electric, begun in early 2013, is nearing completion. The substation is an interconnection point for the new ATC DC Flow Control Facility. The DC Flow Control Facility will help ATC to better control and manage the power flows between the Straits of Mackinac which are tied together with submarine cables.

MJE project staff include Substation Superintendent George Grundner, Lead Foreman Adam Blaine, and General Foremen Mark Cookenmaster, Chris Patterson, and Ben Grant.
