Fulcrum Group Completes High Voltage Substation at Major Midlands Development
Fulcrum Group in the UK has achieved a major milestone by completing a high voltage primary substation at the Fairham mixed-use development in the Midlands. The 132kV substation serves as a crucial component for the £800 million ($944 million) project, jointly undertaken by Clowes Developments and Homes England. Fairham aims to provide 3,000 homes, one million square feet of commercial space, and up to 2,000 jobs in southern Nottingham.
The substation was a collaborative effort between Fulcrum Group’s specialist engineering companies, Dunamis and Maintech. These companies have a strong track record in delivering complex projects up to 132kV, ensuring seamless integration into the development's electrical infrastructure.
In addition to the substation, Fulcrum secured two initial contracts for designing and installing gas, electricity, and water infrastructure at Fairham. These contracts, delivered over two years, will establish the multi-utility infrastructure backbone for the development. Fulcrum has also completed the installation of water infrastructure and gas pipelines, catering to both residential and commercial units.
Fulcrum’s experience, combined with Dunamis and Maintech’s high voltage capabilities, enables efficient and cost-effective utility solutions for the Fairham project. As a preferred utility partner, Fulcrum will support home builders involved in the development, further enhancing its role in the project's success
