eMeter Corp. has announced that EDMI Ltd. will participate in its IntegratedMDM program. eMeter announced the launch of its IntegratedMDM Program with six other advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) companies last month.
Larsh Johnson, eMeter CT, said, "Utilities selecting a participating AMI technology can be assured that the technology will operate with eMeter's EnergyIP MDM now and in the future."
This program formalizes the long-term working relationship that eMeter has with these companies. Under the program, EDMI independently agrees to cooperate in the integration of its AMI technology with the EnergyIP software.
"This program was initiated to assure that eMeter and participating AMI technology companies will support utilities' choice of new and exciting AMI capabilities as they are developed," said Cree Edwards, chairman and CEO of eMeter. "This is extremely important as the AMI capabilities evolve. Utilities selecting AMI solutions can be fully confident that our products will work well together and meet or exceed performance requirements."
The eMeter IntegratedMDM program consists of the following elements:
- Interoperability. The parties ensure that eMeter's MDM will interoperate with the participating AMI technologies.
- Independence of MDM and AMI Systems. The parties recognize the advantage that an open, independent MDM offers utilities that can select from the participant's offerings now and in the future.
- Integration Planning. The program includes ongoing development cooperation and release planning between eMeter and the AMI companies covering existing and future functionality.
eMeter developed EnergyIP specifically to support the installation, operation, and management of AMI systems and the data they generate. eMeter's software is a multi-vendor AMI integration platform built upon an open Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) incorporating real-time messaging technology. Furthermore, EnergyIP enables support for a wide range of growing Smart Grid functions, ranging from interval metering to Home Area Networks (HANs).
